Good news boom box fans! Decode & FM:RL are gearing up for Unsilent Night to take over the streets and laneways of Melbourne again Christmas. Put Thursday 20th December in your diary, be on the steps of the state library 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start and don't forget your boom box!

 




 

Plug In: music & digital media summit

Plug In: music & digital media summit happened 22 - 23 November with various industry presenters sharing their thoughts on where the local music industry is heading in this digital age. The Summit also featured international speakers via video links, Band Clinic - a unique mentoring program and Plug In Social set in the beautiful heritage gardens of the Abbotsford Convent.

 





 

Uncharted

Uncharted is a national band compeition created by Tooheys Extra Dry.

in 2007 the winning band secured a deal with Sony BMG Red Label and slot on the 2008 Big Day Out tour, a life-long dream for the band members. Decode planned, booked and managed the independnent media campaign to promote uncharted to music makers and fans achieving over 700 band entries and thousands of online daily votes. The 2008 comeptition kicks off early in the new year, stay tuned for more details.




 

Underbelly: public arts lab & festival 2007

The first inaugural Underbelly: public arts lab and festival took over CarrriageWorks 3-14 July 2007, bringing over 100 of Sydney’s fringe artists together for a ten-day public-access artist residency, finishing with a one day music and arts festival which completely sold out! With the overwhelming response, amazing artists installations and performances, Underbelly is now an annual event and set to happen again in Sydney 2008 from June 30 to July 15.





 

Tedcast

To highlight the finalists from each of the Uncharted competition rounds, Decode produced an audio podcast for the official site. The grand final winners Krill, were interviewed and mixed in to a special edition audio podcast which can be downloaded from the Uncharted site

 




 

Underbelly TV

Underbelly TV is a daily peek in the window of the 10 day Underbelly Public Arts Lab residency which involved over 100 Sydney fringe artists collaborating at CarriageWorks in Sydney 3 - 12 July, 2007. Shot entirely on Nokia NSeries N95 mobile phones, its a real time, punters view of how the day unfolded. Each episode was turned around within 12 hours and posted online for punters, artists, media and crew to check in on this social experiment. The content was also looped and projected on large screens at the venue, in what became an unfolding time lapse of how the space was changing everyday. Over 3,000 have viewed Underbelly TV online via Youtube.

Decode was the publicity agency for the 2006 Uffie & Feadz tour, as part of the East-Coast tour 'It Happens Every Year' presented by Select Music, Various Artists and Good Cop Bad Cop.

Decode exposed George Gittoes documentary RAMPAGE - about life in Brown Sub, Miami to the hip-hop, docco and independent media communities.




 

Phone The Future

City Of Sydney Council is planning for the future of the city beyond 2030. Faced with the challenge of collecting feedback from its residents, Decode devised and developed a futuristic solution to an age old problem.
