Phone The Future

City Of Sydney Council is planning for the future of the city beyond 2030. Faced with the challenge of collecting feedback from its residents, Decode devised and developed a futuristic solution to an age old problem.  People are generally averse to speaking in large public forums and surveys often deliver generic answers with little insight.

The phone booth allows residents to leave a message for the future. The Futuristic phone box is being used at public events hosted by City Of Sydney Council and in public spaces like Pitt Street Mall. People have been lining up, patiently waiting their turn to leave feedback and record their thoughts about what Sydney needs for the future. The information gathered is being used as part of the 2030 plan consultation process which will impact upon the future direction of the city.
