MUSIC POLICY Without any formalised playlisting, 4ZZZ caters to a wide range of tastes during their weekday ‘strip’ programming which covers everything from electronic to indie. A range of specialist shows also provide genre-based ‘blocks’, of interest to both youth audiences and those with a passion for drum ‘n’ bass, punk, ska, metal, blues, jazz and other forms generally ignored by commercial radio. The station also publishes and broadcasts a yearly Top 100 countdown of songs and gives special attention to local, independent and female artists.
OTHER PROGRAMING Music is interspersed with frequent news and interviews, plus regular specialist talk shows covering arts, film, youth affairs, gay and lesbian and environmental concerns.
REGULAR EVENTS The station has close connections with local music events and offers special ‘4ZZZ Presents…’ packages. It also hosts regular gigs (including a monthly ‘Dub Day Afternoon’) and has been behind Brisbane’s annual ‘Market Day’ festival
