MUSIC POLICY

Non-playlisted dance music covering everything from dub-reggae, hip hop and drum ‘n’ bass, to house, techno and garage. Specialist music shows are hosted by regular DJs, whilst visiting guests and internationals also drop in for guest sets. A separate entity known as George Jazz covers nu-jazz and soul, to retrospective sounds by the masters and labels like Verve and Blue Note.

OTHER PROGRAMING

Primarily a dance music network, Groove FM also broadcasts news bulletins, surf reports, magazine style national reviews, a book report and club/gig listings.

REGULAR EVENTS

Groove FM has close associations with dance and club events in New Zealand and also hosted the ‘Groove In The Park’ festival. In January 2009 the station collaborated with the Sale St Brewing Company to launch its own brand of beer.
